Aurum — gold and the relief of grown mycelium

About
the project

Aurum pairs a grown mycelium surface with gold. The intervention follows selected ridges, cavities and patterns, allowing the relief of the biological material to guide the composition.

The series concentrates on the encounter between two very different materials. Gold highlights the existing surface rather than concealing it. Views of complete works and close details reveal how the appearance changes with distance and light.
